How We Transform Ashes or Hair into a Certified Memory Diamond

At Black Jack® Memory, we specialize in turning the essence of your beloved pet into a real, certified lab-grown diamond. Every step is handled with transparency, care, and lifetime verification so you can trust that your diamond truly carries their memory.

Hair to Diamond Process 

🧬 Step 1: Send Ashes or Hair Sample

For U.S. buyers – you will send a small sample of ashes (minimum 50 grams) or hair (2–3 grams) to our secure USA address.

For international buyers – you will ship the same to our Thailand or India intake centers, whichever is easiest for your location.

We provide a Unique Black Jack® ID with your kit. Simply place the sample in a small pouch or container, seal it, and stick the ID on top. This ID is laser-engraved later on your diamond girdle and also on your Brand Certificate of Authenticity, allowing lifetime verification. 

⚗️ Step 2: Carbon Extraction & Verification

Once received at our lab, we take full responsibility for transporting the sample safely to our diamond laboratory in India. This way, you avoid lengthy customs documents or complicated paperwork.

At the lab, we begin the carbon purification process. The ashes or hair are treated at ultra-high temperatures to isolate the pure carbon. Every step of this process is documented and shared with you — so you’ll know exactly when your carbon has been extracted and how it is being refined for diamond growth.

🔥 Step 3: Diamond Growth in HPHT Machine

The purified carbon is placed into our next-generation High-Pressure High-Temperature (HPHT) growth chambers. This replicates the Earth’s natural conditions where diamonds are formed.

Unlike older methods that took months, our advanced technology can grow even larger diamonds within 7 to 15 days, depending on your chosen carat size. You’ll receive updates as your diamond crystal begins to form, showing its journey from carbon to rough diamond.

💎 Step 4: Cutting, Polishing & Certification

Once the rough memory diamond is grown, it moves to our master artisans for precision cutting and polishing — a process that takes just 2 days.

  • If you’ve ordered a loose memory diamond, it will be certified, packaged, and shipped immediately.
  • If you’ve chosen a custom jewelry setting (ring, pendant, earring), our goldsmiths will handcraft the piece in 2–3 additional days.

Every diamond is engraved with your Unique Black Jack® ID on the girdle. This ID matches the one on your Certificate of Authenticity, ensuring lifetime traceability and proof that your diamond was grown from your provided ashes or hair carbon.

From the moment we receive your sample, the entire process takes 20–30 days, including:

  • Sample intake & verification
  • Carbon extraction & purification
  • Diamond growth (7–15 days)
  • Cutting & polishing (2 days)
  • Jewelry crafting (optional, +2–3 days)
